Be a Part of the Addams Family

Greater Lakes Area Performing Arts, Pequot Lakes High School, Pequot Lakes Realtor, Pequot Lakes Community Theater

Grow your acting skills and consider auditioning for the upcoming Greater Lakes Area Performing Arts production, The Addams Family. Pequot Lakes Community Theatre will hold their auditions Monday, November 19th and Tuesday, November 20th at 6:30 p.m. at the Pequot Lakes High School Theater.

The plot unfolds from the book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and original characters created by Charles Addams:
It’s every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

If auditioning, be prepared to sing 16 measures of a musical selection (a piano accompanist will be provided). There will also be a dance audition, so wear clothes and shoes that you are comfortable moving in. The following roles are available:
– Gomez Addams (30s – 60s): Passionate, intense, devoted
– Morticia Addams (30s – 60s): Dark, romantic, mysterious, sexy
– Wednesday Addams (teens – 20s): Dark and disturbed but is recently coming out of her shell to discover the sweeter things in life
– Pugsley Addams (under 16, unchanged singing voice): Mischievous, strange, playful yet devious sense of humor
– Fester Addams (20s – 60s): Brother of Gomez, eccentric, high strung, joyful and bizarre
– Grandma Addams (40s – 70s): Bitter and twisted, like a comedic wicked witch
– Lurch (20s – 60s): Tall, zombie-like qualities, not quite living, not quite dead
– Lucas Beineke (teens – 20s): Wednesday’s secret fiancee, innocent, passionate, and completely devoted to Wednesday
– Mal Beineke (30s – 60s): Lucas’ straight laced father from Ohio, “normal” and set in his ways, he wants nothing to do with the Addams Family
– Alice Beineke (30s – 60s): Lucas’ mother, sweet and innocent with a friendly, though nervous demeanor,
she is trying to make the best of the situation
– Six ghoulish ensemble as The Addams’ ancestors.

Rehearsals will start January 2nd, 2019 with performances on February 22nd, 23rd and March 1st at 7:30 p.m. There will also be performances on February 24th, March 2nd and 3rd at 2 p.m. at the Pequot Lakes High School Theater located at 30805 Olson Street. For more information about the script or audition tips/questions, contact Director Stephanie White at stephwhite86@gmail.com or glapatheater@gmail.com.
